Highlighter Sticks – The Best Makeup Invention Known to Man

October 9, 2016

hey y’all!
it’s kate! happy sunday I hope you all had a great week last week.
today, I was inspired by (some may say overuse) my use of highlighter.
if you are unaware of what highlighter is, highlighter is a makeup product, it basically adds shine to your face and can be applied in certain spots to create a certain look of dewy glow.
i love using highlighter on my face because i feel like it helps me add that extra “glow” that looks good for my face. I love using highlighter ‘sticks’ (in stick more solid form rather than powder) because they are much simpler to apply (and for me) they tend to look better.
so today i wanted to share with y’all my favorite stick highlighters, or stick highlighter that I have been wanting to try…
let’s get started!

  1. glossier haloscope bronzer -$22
  2. milk makeup highlighter -$24
  3. clinique chubby stick sculpting highlight -$23
  4. milk makeup holographic stick -$28
  5. nars ‘the mulitiple’ -$39
  6. benefit ‘watts up’ cream highlighter -$30
  7. benefit ‘girl meets pearl’ -$30

i hope that you enjoy my post today!
xoxo

My GlamGlow 'ThirstyMud' Review

October 6, 2016

hey all!
happy thursday!
y’all probably don’t remember, but a long time ago (like in january 2015) i wrote this post here about glam glow.
first of all, if you do not know what glam glow is, glam glow is a beauty company that makes skincare products.
i have been using their ‘supermud’ for more than a year (as you can see from my very old blog post) i typically use it once per week in spot treatments on my chin or nose because the price point is really not one i would like to make very often, and i have only bought this product twice, so i have been extremely lucky (or just been able to extend as long as possible).
so recently i decided to try out glam glow’s ‘thirstymud‘ product…
i typically have a combination face, with an oily t-zone (my forehead, nose and chin) i usually get black/white heads in those spots (caused by over oil production and clogged pores). i was extremely skeptical of this product because i really don’t need that ‘moisture’ because typically only have dry spots on my cheeks, which i use moisturizer for.
the product claims to be “THIRSTYMUD™ uses the newest, most advanced, and extreme hydration active technologies. It moisturizes, restores, replenishes, and calms the skin. Dewdration™ boosts and locks in moisture for a dewy and youthful result while HydraPack™ leaves skin with an instant silky, soft, and supple feel. GreenEnergy™ smooths and energizes the skin, giving you a healthy-looking, glowing complexion.” (according to Sephora)
so first i opened the package…

and its really pretty. i love the color, the metallic blue and the star, its very minimal, something i am sure y’all know that i love.
so i tested the mask…
i typically use very drying products because i need my oily t-zone to  be less oily to not only get rid of the oil, but also the pimples. this creates a total drying effect on my face.
this mask totally restored moisture to my face. i am not kidding, my face feels moist, but not only, which is a total win for me, because when my face is not oily it is completely dry.
s0 i am super excited to continue using this because i have only used it once.
i hope you enjoyed!

My Favorite Beauty Products

August 28, 2015

hey guys!

how have you guys been doing? i hope well! well anyway today I am gonna share with you all of my favorite beauty products. I don’t use them too much though because I don’t wear makeup everyday.

okay, well lets get started:

  1. Diorskin Nude ® BB Creme: This product is one of my favorites. I got it in New York in 2013! And I am still on the same bottle. But anyway this product is the bomb and its so soft on my skin.

2. Benefit Watt’s Up! Highlighter: This is such a simple lovely hi lighter. Its easier than powder and its just so simple. I love the blender on the other side.

3. Mario Badescu Special Healing Powder: This powder is perfect, its so matte over makeup, but it also works over nothing just to be a nice color powder.

4. Benefit Boi-Ing Concealer: Okay I have raved after this concealer before, but I am seriously in love with it! Its by far my favorite beauty product of all time.

5. Clinique ‘Chubby Lash’ Fattening Mascara: This is a new mascara but I seriously love it. I have blue eyes so this blue mascara is like perfect for me. Its not too light so it just gives a perfect tint for my eyes.

6. It Brushes Your Superheroes Full-Size Travel Brush Set: The It brushes are seriously the softest brushes I’ve ever used. They aren’t too expensive and not too cheap, because they feel great. Another plus side to this set is that these are the best brushes for everything you would need (I mean its not a full set, but its close to it.)

7. LORAC ‘The Skinny Palette – Black’ Eyeshadow Palette: This palette is from the Nordstrom Anniversary sale so its no longer available, but these are the best colors and lorac is such a nice brand!

Spring 2015: Beauty Favorites

April 12, 2015

Hey guys!

I wanted to show you guys my beauty favorites for Spring 2015.

1. Glam Glow: You guys know how much I am in love with Glam Glow. I swear by it, and use it every Saturday, because you cannot use the mask too much because its drying, and expensive. -$69

2. Shoot for the Stars Bath Bomb: Okay, so recently I have had an obsession with taking baths on weekends, where I just sit and think. Bath bombs are just so fun, and are so colorful! They are not too expensive considering I only use them like once a month.-$6.95

3. Essie Nail Polish in No Pre-Nup: Essie is my favorite nail polish brand and I am just loving the pastel colors for this upcoming spring season. -$8

4. Benefit Boi-Ing Concealer: This is my favorite concealer! At first I did not like the concealer because it was a pot concealer, and I just used my fingers, but then I got an It Cosmetics Brush.-$20

5. EOS in Passion Fruit: This is the smoothest lip balm around. In addition to being my favorite color and a very good scent. Love this balm! -$3

6. Soap and Glory Clean on Me: This is a shower gel which combines both shower gel amd body lotion. You will not believe how fast I went through this! -$16

7. Diptyque L’Eau de Eau: This is a light fragrance from Diptyque a french company that makes devine scents. This is good for all people with its light scent. -$98

8. It Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Buffing Airbrush Foundation Brush: It Cosmetics makes a very beautiful line of brushes. They are the sofest brushes that make me so happy! -$35

9. Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer Classic: Putting this on before putting on makeup really makes your base layer full coverage. This really makes your foundation stick if you have pimples the day of your event. Buy it in the travel size to see how you like it. -$15
