Notes Notes Notes!- My Favorite Ways to Take Notes

November 13, 2016

hey all!
today i am bringing y’all a school related post because right now i can easily say that i am drowning in schoolwork, and the only thing that is saving me right now is pretty notes!
so i have mentioned many times before that i love pretty notes (here / here2 / here3/ here4 – just to mention a few of the times i have talked about notes, believe me, i have mentioned this more than four times)
so today, i wanted to share with you the two different ways i like to take notes!
so here we go!
way #1:  NOTABILITY
screen-shot-2016-10-31-at-10-22-35-pm
so if y’all are unaware, notability is an app made for the iphone, ipad and mac computer that you can take notes with.
this is a super cool note taking app because you can draw using pens and highlighter with your fingers or with a stylus. this app allows you to input a pdf document that you can write on top or highlight without printing it. this has a really special environmentally friendly option because it  doesn’t require you to print it to make any further notes (but you can also print it) and its super useful because you can erase on it and make notes and make it look perfect to use which is perfect for me.
although this app costs $4.99 (which is a really hefty cost for an app y’all know i wouldn’t buy an app more than .99$ unless it was a super special app)
way #2:
handmade notes!

handmade notes are kinda awesome guys! i mean you can get a ton of cute pens (which everyone loves AM I RIGHT?) also just writing on pens and paper is just much easier to control and its kinda nice to stay away from technology.
also a ton of my teachers do not allow me to use technology in class so pens and paper is so classic!
i hope you all enjoyed today!

My Test Taking Tips!

March 17, 2016

hey guys!

for these past few weeks I have been really feeling in control, maybe its because I finally have my classes down and I have been doing yoga every 2-3 times a week, but I think its because I am doing so well on recent assignments.  so today I wanted to share a post on tips for test taking and school on what I do to keep stress free and how I prepare for tests

lets get started:

so my test taking tips, recently I have been studying more in different ways.

I really enjoy looking at studyblrs, and if you don’t know what a “studyblr” is  its a tumblr blog that has notes and posts about school stuff that is just very picture worthy, here are some examples:

so recently I have been making studyblr inspired studied guides, they make me want be more organized, and they have really helped me to study better for my tests and quizzes, and they make me want to work harder.

another tip i have been using is with vocabulary:

I have been studying the 100 most used SAT words to prepare for my college tests that I am taking this summer. I know, I am only a sophomore and some people believe that starting testing before I even start junior year is crazy, but I want to do the best I can on those tests.

So, getting on with it, the vocab, I made a list and a calendar with all my words. I have been putting post it notes around my house at the places I look the most, my computer screen, my mirror, the fridge etc I have a few per week and this is actually a really smart way for me to learn my vocab word well.

I hope these tips help y’all, comment if you have any other helpful tips and if I like it enough I will add it to my list for studying!

thanks!

xoxo

Exam Tips

May 16, 2015

hey guys!

I know that my exams are coming up, so I wanted to share my exam tips for finals, and those big important tests at the end of the year!

here we go:

1. Chew a Piece of Gum while Studying, then Chew it While You are taking the Exam: This trick doesn’t work for many people, because they can’t chew gum at school or it just doesn’t work for you. This works for me. Now I go to a private school, and they usually don’t let you chew gum, but since I ask ahead of time to my proctors, they let me chew the gum. I like to chew bubble mint flavor by any brand!

2. Make Flashcards: Okay, now I know this sounds like a no-brainer, but I always make flashcards because writing things twice helps me remember it better.

3. Get some Sleep: Okay, I know that it is very important to study, but sleep is also very important. Sleep actually helps you remember more of what you study. Also when you sleep more, you perform better on the exams.

4. Start Early: This will help you get more sleep too. I like to make my study guides and flashcards early, and start early picking up more and more things along the way.

5. Get Organized: Right when I get study guides from my teachers, I like to grab a binder, or a notebook with a folder pocket and make study guides and flashcards. This organization helps it be easier when I am driving around just to pick up my binder and easily study.

6. Ask Questions: Okay, this one is very important. Any time you have extra time, a free block, an office hours session or before/after school go to your teachers, and ask the questions you need. Some of the classes right before the final you might not have time to ask the question or the teacher might not be willing to answer the question.

7. Energize Your Mind on the Day of the Exam: The morning of the exam, don’t go crazy studying and trying to cram. If you are cramming now, its not good. In the morning before my finals I like to do a crossword puzzle or a sudoku puzzle, or something like that!

hope y’all enjoyed this, and hope you do well on your finals!

xoxo
