hey all!
so its wednesday, yet i have a blog post. but i have a great reason for waiting to post.
basically i just came home from my junior class retreat.
and i go to an all girls school, so for us, retreats mean bonding like none other especially with all girls. many might believe that an all girl school is a hotbed for cat fights and just all around girl drama all together, but this is entirely not true.
our bonding is freaking awesome.
we have the best activities like building tall towers of marshmallows and dry long pasta
and FYI my team won (the best team on the planet) because our tower was the highest and we basically all had different disabilities (for example some were blind) i had my left arm taped to my body so i was unable to use my left arm, but my right arm was right on key. we won because i realized that we could communicate all of our ideas together to create an awesome end product.
we also colored mandalas and tried ‘zen sitting’ both were pretty awesome and super calming in my life.
another one of my favorite bonding moments was during the evening when our whole class had a karaoke session.
this was super awesome because all of my favorite hamfam (y’all know who you are 🙂 ellie, christine, kat, carmen & trin) got to sing to ‘alexander hamilton’ the first song in the musical.
ALSO
my entire class sang ‘the climb’ all together from the hannah montana and its hontesly such a song that is a throwback but also a current song about the journeys that we face together as a class.
the retreat center was in malibu and was super pretty because it was up in the mountains so we could see all into the water and it was just simply so perfect to watch and just look over the view and do nothing, like it was so peaceful.
my absolute favorite part of the retreat was the affirmation notes
so basically we all made ‘mail boxes’ which we were allowed to decorare any way that we want to so i just decided to decorate with my name.
so we were given post it note sized papers and we could write notes to other people in our class.
i was personally so touched by all of the nice notes that i recieved. i feel so much more loved, like you never truly realize how much other people enjoy just having you in their lives, like i enjoy all of these people, its nice to know that they enjoy me too!
i had a great time at my retreat, and i am honestly letting you guys know if you get a chance to go on retreat go, because its a great experience with whomever you go with, but it also allows for alot of great self growth.
i am also so excited to be able to go to another retreat in the new few weeks, because i get to do this all over again!

so this upcoming thursday is thanksgiving, i mean if you didn’t know, welcome to america but also thanksgiving is truly overshadowed by christmas so i am trying to give thanksgiving its own time.

i don’t know about you guys but i love mascara. its probably my favorite type of makeup because its super easy to apply (and i hate to make sweeping generalizations but) it pretty much makes people look good.
as you may be able to see from the photo i use four different types of mascara: one blue one, a detailed one, a lash gel and a regular mascara.
so why don’t we start!
- clinique ‘chubby lash’ fattening mascara : i am so sad because they no longer offer this in blue, but about 6 months ago i bought it in blue. since i have blue eyes, its exactly perfect and makes my eyes look even more blue. it just looks perfect during the summer and typically with more colorful outfits or black shirt, but no brown or grey.
- bare minerals lash domination volumizing mascara petite precision brush: i absolutely love the brush on this one because its brush is super great for detailing. since it has a smaller brush, it also helps to get out clumps, apply to bottom lashes and to get those little lashes that are closer to your nose and harder to apply. bare mineral’s mascara formula is super awesome because it is really easy to build with from the base.
- the body shop brow and lash gel: this one is awesome because its colorless. i have a tube of this to basically finish off my mascara regimen/ it also works to brush & comb out eyebrows to tame them and totally works well after filling them in for that finishing touch. it is not necessary to use, but its truly an awesome product that totally helps with clumps or other mascara issues.
- too faced better than sex mascara: this has a totally raunchy name but its a totally great mascara. seriously the wand to apply the mascara is totally amazing because its really well textured, while the product is also really nice as well because it lasts a really long time as well as lasts really well with water. they also offer a waterproof one which i have not tried yet, but the original works seems to be fine for me. so 5/5 i will recommend to anyone who is looking to try it.

thanksgiving season is well upon us now seeing as its november 15th and its just alittle more than a week till thanksgiving!
so i was thinking about planning a friendsgiving party.
if y’all don’t know what friendsgiving is , its basically a thanksgiving party / dinner with your friends so its basically a friends thankgiving dinner
it just seems like a really fun idea to me and i would love to try it, so naturally my friends and i created a pinterest board for friendsgiving

today i am bringing y’all a school related post because right now i can easily say that i am drowning in schoolwork, and the only thing that is saving me right now is pretty notes!
so i have mentioned many times before that i love pretty notes (here / here2 / here3/ here4 – just to mention a few of the times i have talked about notes, believe me, i have mentioned this more than four times)
so today, i wanted to share with you the two different ways i like to take notes!
so here we go!
way #1: NOTABILITY
so if y’all are unaware, notability is an app made for the iphone, ipad and mac computer that you can take notes with.
this is a super cool note taking app because you can draw using pens and highlighter with your fingers or with a stylus. this app allows you to input a pdf document that you can write on top or highlight without printing it. this has a really special environmentally friendly option because it doesn’t require you to print it to make any further notes (but you can also print it) and its super useful because you can erase on it and make notes and make it look perfect to use which is perfect for me.
although this app costs $4.99 (which is a really hefty cost for an app y’all know i wouldn’t buy an app more than .99$ unless it was a super special app)
way #2:
handmade notes!
handmade notes are kinda awesome guys! i mean you can get a ton of cute pens (which everyone loves AM I RIGHT?) also just writing on pens and paper is just much easier to control and its kinda nice to stay away from technology.
also a ton of my teachers do not allow me to use technology in class so pens and paper is so classic!

i missed y’all yesterday, but i had a crazy busy week and could not make yesterday’s post happen. this is one of the first times that i have genuinely missed a post which is sad! but i told myself if i missed a post it would be okay because i would probably be busy (which i am now!).

i have always loved the marie antoinette period of history in france. of course, as a history student, i know the backstory of spending way too much money and letting the country get into debt, but i have always loved to look and think about the lavish parties and crazy fashion and hair. i love the marie antoinette movie by sofia coppola and starring kristen dunst, i think that movie accurately portrays the lavish life of the french dauphin that led to a revolution.

hey all!
seeing as the holiday season has started, (even though i would regretfully say that i wish it hasn’t) but since we have kinda been opening up into the thanksgiving season i say that the holiday season had begun, i think it is the fall feeling, but i have noticed that the meals i have eaten have gotten a bit heavier.
you know, the holiday season makes you eat, it is just fate. just the colder weather, which has made an impact in california (the temperature has gone down a little!) which means that i have to add an extra layer of blubber, yet i really don’t want to because that just means that i will just have to lose that fat in feburary, which is so hard because it soon becomes candy season and spolier alert, i love candy and its basically an unhealthy cycle of eating.
so now, i am trying to make a change during the holiday season. i am trying to eat healthier during the days and especially lunch to be able to have a better ethic on food.
so today i want to share with y’all some warm and hearty lunch meal options that will not make that calorie count go up (not too much at least!) .

welcome to november, its now 11/1/16, halloween is over and it feels like we are really ready to go for this year, like i am completed and we are 10 months through the year and its genuinely so crazy for me, because 2017 will be crazy because i will finally be a senior, and that will be way too crazy, but i am not trying to get too far ahead of myself and try to live more in the moment instead of looking ahead because it often provides a not necessary stress for me, so let me get off of the 2017 cliff and focus on november, lets go!
so for november i have picked
gratitude
the word gratitude means “the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.” (according to google). november is often the month of gratitude because of thanksgiving which is probably the most notable event in november (besides my half birthday which by the way is tomorrow!).
how will i try to be more ‘grateful’ this month?
this month, i will be trying to give back as much as i can to others. november for me is gonna be less of a me month, and more of how can i help my family and help those who seek in my community, or online. i will also try to be more thankful for the things that i posess, and want less, i would like to be less needy with material goods and more willing to share with others.
so, i hope you enjoy this journey through the month, i will have some exciting new articles and ideas to share with y’all for this month, get ready! and please feel free to share if you have any ideas for me for posts, like what y’all would like to see from me!
