my prom is ALMOST HERE – and in continuation with some other posts i am gonna share a final few prom dress options as well as some shoes and accessories that i am loving! so of course while shopping i came across a few things i thought i would share with all of you!

hey all!

last friday for fun – because i had my frees last, aka i was done at 10:35! –  i decided to head out with my sister to go explore in venice! venice is near santa monica and the ocean for those who don’t know! because i went to go explore in venice i really wanted to share a post of my day trip, the spots i hit up and what i enjoyed the most!

all of the photos in here either my sister and i all took and edited them! without further ado!

we started at the butcher’s daughter:

the butcher’s daughter is at:  1205 abbot kinney blvd, venice, CA 90291

its a restaurant known for its organic pressed juices and their vegetarian food. my sister and i ordered the juice flight with 4 organic juices of our choice and i ordered the “surfer’s breakfast” which was a breakfast burrito while my sister opted for the “new york avo toast” which was exactly as it seemed!

the food was awesome and the atmosphere was super cute! i really enjoyed getting to sit down and eat with my sister us two without complaining and just talking about our lives, goals and of course what we were gonna do later in the day!

next we headed to shop around abbot kinney!

we took pictures in front of the ‘aviator nation’ store and we just enjoyed the weather and walked around!

we also headed to this adorable store called “burro”

we found this card, and found that we both ~heavily~ related to it on a deeply personal level – for your information : my sister is in film school at USC while i am a senior graduating this year headed to TBA (to be announced at a later date!) for graphic design!

next we went to visit the “venice” sign:

fyi : its the middle of ‘woodward’ and ‘pacific’, and if you want a picture like your’s truly you will have to take a car with a sun roof and have either a passenger who is willing to take pictures or someone (thanks sister!) who will drive slow enough for you to get the good shots!

last, and most importantly we headed to jeni’s splendid in venice!

y’all know i am a HUGE ice cream fan and when i saw on instagram that jeni’s was coming out with FROSE i absolutely had to go and visit. let me tell you, the frose was AWESOME! i am a huge sorbet gal and totally wanna go back and get more!

its been a super hard week so im sorry if this post is alittle late. its been crazy busy and i’ve been super stressed so its been a little tough but i finally have a post ready for y’all!  i am loving the straw bag trend, its perfect for the upcoming spring and summer looks so i’m super excited to share this post!

#1 : kate spade aligator bag 

this is probably the most unique item i have on this list, but i AM in LOVE with this bag and am totally coveting it! first of all, i love the shape, and kate spade seriously always nails it on the more kitsch-y things, but i love the basket weave going on there too, and would totally get it if it was more versatile!

#2 : street level crossbody bag

i love this style of bag! for this price (its $84) is super perfect for wanting to be in the season and up to date with all of the trends while keeping up with your budget. it has great reviews and would pair well with many outfits.

#3 : clare v pot de miel bag 

clare v makes super great bags, while they are a little bit over my price point, they are beautiful and i love looking at them and coveting them. i found this bag on song of style, and absolutely love the bucket bag style.

#4 : cult gaia ark bag

y’all KNOW i love this guy, to me this bag is so iconic, and is not only perfect for your resort wear, but ALL summer, and with many different outfits.

#5 : kate spade bloom st. wicker satchel

this bag is an awesome bag for the coming seasons it would be perfect with any outfit in any situation!

#6 : kate spade straw satchel

i am in love with the inside portion of this bag as well as the shape. it has a beautiful print on it and would be beautiful for spring!

hey all!

how have y’all been? i have been stressed because i have just been waiting for the final news from colleges and its been CRAZY! and i don’t know about y’all, but when i am stressed out i break out like crazy – and now more than ever i have been obsessed with my skincare routine so i don’t break out like i was speaking of! i currently love my products and really wanted to share my routine with y’all!

here we go!

here is my whole box!

these are all of what i use:

mario badescu enzyme cleansing gel / glossier solution / mario badescu rose water facial spray / mario badescu drying cream / mario badescu almond and honey face scrub

other stuff: 

neutrogena positively radiant daily moisturizer / mario badescu anti acne serum / mario badescu buffering lotion / mario badescu drying lotion / biore blackhead strips / peter thomas roth UV milk / silk scrunchie

not pictured : 

‘purity’ by philosophy / micellar water / foreo luna mini 2

box: 

muji ( i can’t find it online, but its called makeup box 1/2)

here’s what my routine looks like

this is my routine: 

#1 : first of all, i take my hair out of my face and tie it up with a silk scrunchie and then take off any and all makeup (if i am wearing any) and any excess dirt with a cotton pad and micellar water

#2 : then i proceed to wash my face with either mario badescu enzyme cleansing gel or ‘purity’ by philosophy and my foreo luna mini 2.  the rhytmn of the device is 20 seconds for forehead, 20 seconds for nose and chin, 10 seconds for each cheek. in total it is one minute, but its totally worth it and i recommend buying this SPECIFIC FOREO because my mom has a different one, i have used it and its not as good as this one. because its the ‘mens’ one, its got tougher bristles and cleans much better.

#3 : next i use my glossier solution,  i coat a little cotton pad with a pump of the solution and spread it across my face, focusing on the forehead and chin. be VERY careful of getting this guy near your eyes because it is acid after all. also many people have many different opinions about how the solution works for them, but i personally love and DEFINITELY recommend it if you’ve got a little bit of under the skin bumps etc.

#4 : after the solution sets ( i leave it for about 30 seconds!!!) i move onto my sunscreen. i am a sunscreen everyday girl because my skin is super light, but definitely when using the solution make use of sunscreen because the acid can really cause skin damage. i use peter thomas roth UV milk its a super thin solution and it doesn’t clog my pores too much.

i posted last time for prom and got a few comments, just letting you all know that these are just dresses that i think are pretty and not ones that i am necessarily gonna buy or wear for my own prom, but ones i think are super cute! with that being said:

#1 : alfred sung sateen gown

this is one of my absolute favorite gowns that i’ve found while looking. it’s very classy and super amazing. the navy is an absolutely beautiful color and the fabric is also beautiful and would pair super well with gold earrings.

#2 : ruffle chiffon gown 

i love the ruffles on this dress and the wrap neckline. its a beautiful color and is also offered in a navy and in two other pretty colors.

#3 : ruffle back chiffon gown

this red dress is an absolute stunner!  i love the wrap quality of the dress and the little pleats within the skirt. red is always a beautiful color and will definitely allow you to stand out at your own prom.

#4 : bill levkoff surplice chiffon gown 

i loved my bill levkoff dress from last year, the beautiful black and white two-piece number and my graduation dress is also a bill levkoff, but y’all will see that soon enough! this dress is super beautiful in navy!

#5 :  jenny yoo starry night embroidered dress

i am absolutely loving stars right now and this chic dress with the embroidered stars will be a very trendy and up to date look for your prom this year! it would be beautiful with star themed jewelry and sparkly shoes.

#6 : show me your mumu jeni gown

finally, this simple ‘show me your mumu’ gown is super simple and not entirely expensive. it comes in like 6+ colors for almost every skin tone and color that you may like best!

hey all!

its been *quite* awhile since i posted a LA guide post, and i really wanna keep it up and running for all of you headed to LA, or in LA & needing new suggestions! because i am a second semester senior i’ve been loading up on my caffine intake  – guys you wouldn’t believe how sitting in a coffee shop doing homework does the trick! – so in honor of my coffee (and matcha, can’t ever forget about that!) vibes here is a grouping of my favorite LA – and greater LA, i even included some pasadena! – places! as always, these wonderful shots have been taken by my sister alix!

in no particular order here we go!

lavender and honey

a small and cute coffee shop in pasadena, the place has AH-ma-ZING toasts (seriously order the L&H toast – you won’t be sorry!) and such a cute little atmosphere. its a super cute and easy place to sit down with your computer or bullet journal and just work and relax enjoying coffee, toast, sandwiches or salads.

locations in DTLA, hollywood, venice, noho and the grove

 

groundworks is a super unique coffee house because it has a total seattle vibe, great coffee and awesome dairy free nut and other milks! their “bitches brew” (their roast!) is insane and my family has picked up some of their bags from whole foods and its an awesome sunday morning brew!

locations in the arts district, echo park, los feliz, dtla and beverly hills

 

actually, this is one of my favorite places ever. i love the aesthetic, i love the lattes and i love the pastry section (dude their waffles are CRAZY GOOD!) and their cascara fizz is such a good alternative when you don’t feel like coffee.

urth caffe

locations in melrose, beverly hills, santa monica, pasadena and DTLA

 

urth is an awesome spot to get coffee and matcha (their japanese tea latte IS superior!) and their food is awesome, its great to get brunch their potatoes are the BOMB, their gluten free cereal is BOMB and all of their soups are great! they have a super cute atmosphere and its awesome to sit with friends and catch up.

this is a fairly new spot in pasadena, and has coffee and a few food items during the day and ramen at night! kinda a surprising combo but their coffee AND their matcha is amazing – and GUYS they have a super unique ‘charcoal waffle’ (pictured) it also makes for a super special place – because the environment is super bright – to study and read!

locations in santa monica, melrose and DTLA

 

the verve in DTLA is SO COOL, they paired with juice served here to make a super cool store so they have a living plant wall (pictured) and its another super pretty place to study or work on your computer (and to get coffee pictures!).

this place is well known for:

a) printing images on their lattes

b) being right across from paul smith (pink wall!)

but its super cool and their matcha is pretty dang good (do you see a theme? i love matcha!) but its a good spot if you are stopping in melrose, but they also have a wall they paint outside now and then so its another great place to stop.

i often visit the one in pasadena, but i do really enjoy their outside patio – its perfect for working on your computer and just cranking out the homework.

last but not least, BUT FIRST, COFFEE! alfred’s on melrose is iconic, you’ve probably heard about it, or are planning on going. and yes, its GOOD. their latte is great, their kombucha is great, their matcha is great. and thats it!
