December Word of the Month : Joy

hey all!
its december, so lets do a christmas countdown starting today.
right now there is

24 days till christmas day

isn’t that so exciting!
so its december 1st, lets get with the post today, my word of the month!
for december i have picked

joy

the word joy is a noun, that according to google means “a feeling of great pleasure and happiness.” and recently i have been thinking, well joy is different than happiness, because, for me, happiness is satisfied with gifts and material things, but joy is another thing. i often say i am ‘happy’ but never really ‘filled with joy’. why is this? why does joy for some reason seem so unattainable?

how will i try to be more joyous this month?

i wanna focus less on the materials, and more on the relationships and the people around me this month. especially because its christmas this is gonna be super difficult because all around me will be focused on gifts, but i will try to focus on more than what meets the eye.
i am planning a special christmas post for every friday because i wanted to do blogmas, but as a full time student, i don’t really have the time. so look out tomorrow for a super special christmas themed blog post!

November Word of the Month: Gratitude

hey all!
welcome to november, its now 11/1/16, halloween is over and it feels like we are really ready to go for this year, like i am completed and we are 10 months through the year and its genuinely so crazy for me, because 2017 will be crazy because i will finally be a senior, and that will be way too crazy, but i am not trying to get too far ahead of myself and try to live more in the moment instead of looking ahead because it often provides a not necessary stress for me, so let me get off of the 2017 cliff and focus on november, lets go!
so for november i have picked

gratitude

the word gratitude means “the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.” (according to google). november is often the month of gratitude because of thanksgiving which is probably the most notable event in november (besides my half birthday which by the way is tomorrow!).

how will i try to be more ‘grateful’ this month?

this month, i will be trying to give back as much as i can to others. november for me is gonna be less of a me month, and more of how can i help my family and help those who seek in my community, or online. i will also try to be more  thankful for the things that i posess, and want less, i would like to be less needy with material goods and more willing to share with others.

September Word of the Month: Routine

its a new month! its finally september
wait did i say FINALLY SEPTEMBER
well school has started and i feel generally crazed i mean, i have school and then golf, so im re-starting my routine, so i picked…

well, as i said before, i seem to be getting back into my routine! wake up – school- golf/art -homework-sleep

this is pretty much how my days have ended up

how will i try to be more ‘routine’ this month?

well, the definition of routine is “a sequence of actions regularly followed; a fixed program” according to google so i plan on building my routine to have more weekend time and free times on friday nights and such. i would also like more time for myself and meetings for clubs and committees that i am on!
also speaking about a new routine! i am planning on making fashion and clothing related posts on thursdays, life/school related posts on tuesdays and my series posts on sundays! does that sound good to y’all?

August Word of the Month: Organized

August 2, 2016

hey all!
summer has been great, but my organization over these past two months has been very bad.
so I hope this August is…

organized

I mean I’ve been working and I have been making my bullet journal and using my planner to track my sleep, water, exercise and khan academy homework (thank you school for giving me due dates along the way!)
but other than that I am so unorganized… I mean when I make plans with friends the plans are practically changing up to the minute. And when I get home from work I am not good anymore I just roll onto my bed and watch Netflix and eat fatty foods.
and my room, oh I need organization in there most of all…

how will I try to be more organized this month?

well, I created a little printable (which you can find here) so I’m gonna use that and put it on my whiteboard right by my door. I am gonna spend 10 minutes before I go to bed planning out my next day. I don’t know really if my plans will stick, but hey it’s a start! I am also planning on buying a bunch of clear plastic totes for organizing all of the stuff in my room so I know where/what everything is that I have.

June Word of the Month: Unforgettable

its finally summer! and i am an upperclassman!!!

so i was thinking, oh my gosh, its june already, so i remembered that i had to set my monthly intention, and here it is…

i hope this june is

unforgettable

i picked the word unforgettable because i hope my summer is unforgettable. this summer i plan on getting my license and being able to drive any place i want (with my parents permission of course!) also its my sister’s last summer before college so i hope that we have some unforgettable experiences! and friends of course, spending more time creating those moments that we love to have together. according to google, unforgettable is an adjective meaning impossible to forget; very memorable

how will i try to be more ‘unforgettable’ this summer?

this month i plan on having fun in my break by doing the things that i love with the people that i love, and by this i will be developing myself more and my own voice will be able to shine as an unforgettable force.

April Word of the Month: Aesthetic

hey guys!

so its finally april, which is going to be a VERY busy month! so I am excited for what I have in store for my blog 🙂 and what i have in store for my life that I can share on my blog!

so lets get started:

so the word that i picked for this month is

aesthetic

i picked aesthetic because its my current favorite word. the word aesthetic is a noun that according to google means “a set of principles underlying and guiding the work of a particular artist or artistic movement.” i use this word in explaining things that i like which i now say that they “go in my aesthetic” a sample of things that are in my aesthetic would be monogram necklaces, martha’s vineyard houses or bottega louie, and things not in my aesthetic would include tattoos, ripped jeans or muscle tees.

how will i try to be more “aesthetic” this month?

aesthetic is ALSO A ADJECTIVE! as an adjective it means “having a sense of the beautiful; characterized bya love of beauty.” how i will be using aesthetic? good question, i am planning on fixing my aesthetic, making sure that it match, as I want it to. I also want to be more thoughtful of other’s aesthetics, making sure i don’t focus on making other peoples aesthetics more like mine.
