hey all!
i’ve been really busy and honestly been doing too much online window shopping for my dorm room so this was supposed to go up yesterday – but i’m alittle behind so there will be two posts on tuesday instead! anyway, its been a month since i purchased my apple watch and every day i think i love it more and more than ever before. i know loads of people consider buying apple watches but don’t because it feels frivolous – instead buying a active device similar to a fitbit which i had for several years (i had two different fitbits the alta and the flex) and although i loved those, i have a special connection with my apple watch. since i’m in LOVE with it so much, i thought i would review for you all what i love MOST about my apple watch. and if you ever want to purchase you can buy mine here!

here we go!

#1: the activity tracker

why i had my fitbits before was mainly the activity features. i want my steps counted and i want to see how active i have been every day. my health i take pretty seriously and ever since freshman year i have motivated myself to attempt to get AHA recommendation of 10,000 steps per day (and more recently i have succeeded more than i’ve failed!). i love the activity tracker on my apple watch because they have these things called your ‘rings’, you set how many calories you’d like to burn, how many minutes you’d like to exercise and how many hours you’d like to stand. everyday you try to complete your rings and its actually very motivating! i love it.

#2: TEXTING AND CALLING

originally i was not excited for this feature because i decided this watch would make me connected to my phone by a leash and i’d basically be at everyone’s beck and call 24/7, and although i am not wrong, its actually kinda perfect that i can recieve texts and calls. i don’t always sit with my phone with me, most times i leave it charging/etc but sometimes someone REALLY needs to reach me and i love that my watch alerts me and i can help them in my best way possible!

#3: theatre and don’t disturb modes

as i said, blah blah blah about the fact that my watch is a leash at least i have the ability to set it on ‘do not disturb’ when i don’t want to be reached. its actually perfect and makes me feel better sometimes when i’d rather be more disconnected. i also love the theatre setting – which turns down brightness and sets off your alerts when you are viewing something. it was great when i saw ‘a quiet place’ this week because my group chat was blowing up but i got to appreciate the movie and then get back into the group chat when i was ready.

#4: wireless sound & bluetooth

honestly, i connect my earpods turn on music and i’m out. whether it be music, an audiobook or a podcast i am able to control the sound on my watch to my earpods. i can just set my phone in another room, and paint or clean or honestly do anything. i don’t know how but it truly makes me feel super human and its CRAZY.

#5: heart rate monitor

this is what i was really looking forward to when i switched to my apple watch. although there are fitbits that can monitor your heart rate, i never owned one so i just lived my life without it. but now that i get the data about my rate heart i believe it has elevated my workouts significantly and allowed me to get a little input more about how i am living my life, because my heart is extremely important and to live a healthy life is must be living well.

#6: ITS A WATCH

i know what you’ll say ‘well duh’. okay, fine my fitbit was also ~technically~ a watch but this is FAR superior as a watch. it has the cutest watch face options, from disney and pixar to active setting and your own pictures you can really pick from the best of all worlds and what honestly can be the best for your own lifestyle. i love my watch now because i can walk around places where my phone isn’t as friendly (like at work or at school) and can check the clock without it looking sketchy. its just so perfect!

#7: removable and changeable straps

because i’ve only had mine for about a month i only have the strap it came with, but i always go and look for other strap bands! there are so many designer options, more things that look like a classic watch, more athletic options and just colorfuly and comfy options. the watch is super customizable for any user in any type of situation and it just may be perfect for you too!

enjoy & shop the apple watch!
