Spring Look: Vol. 4

March 18, 2018

(this post contains affiliate links which may be monetized)

hey all!

happy sunday! this week was a LONG and busy one but i continued to get some good news which i will be ready to share with y’all VERY soon! guys i have been so excited researching my butt off about a few things and  finishing my last semester strong!  just like i needed to do and i hope that the next quarter goes as well as i hope it does.

in a total unrelated fashion, here’s a spring look that i am loving!

as always, a note to all my readers – this post does not mean i own any of the above, or that i will buy any of the above. it just means that i like it visually and (unless noted) i do not own it; all that i will write about is stuff i hear from friends and other users of the product as well as the visual aspects of the product which i will mention in the comment below!

springvol4.png

/ top : topshop tea front buttoned blouse / skirt : topshop ring detail mini /

/ bag : staud bucket bag / shoes : sam edelman odila sandal /

i’m loving this sorta modern / sorta classic spring look! first this top is modern – yet classic with its fabric and buttons and the skirt’s print is super vintage-y but the style is super modern. the skirt and top pair so well together! i love this staud LITERAL bucket bag – like its adorable and i found it when song of style shared it with all of us.

xoxo!

My Favorite LA Coffee Shops

March 13, 2018

hey all!

its been *quite* awhile since i posted a LA guide post, and i really wanna keep it up and running for all of you headed to LA, or in LA & needing new suggestions! because i am a second semester senior i’ve been loading up on my caffine intake  – guys you wouldn’t believe how sitting in a coffee shop doing homework does the trick! – so in honor of my coffee (and matcha, can’t ever forget about that!) vibes here is a grouping of my favorite LA – and greater LA, i even included some pasadena! – places! as always, these wonderful shots have been taken by my sister alix!

in no particular order here we go!

lavender and honey

1383 E Washington Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91104

a small and cute coffee shop in pasadena, the place has AH-ma-ZING toasts (seriously order the L&H toast – you won’t be sorry!) and such a cute little atmosphere. its a super cute and easy place to sit down with your computer or bullet journal and just work and relax enjoying coffee, toast, sandwiches or salads.

groundworks

locations in DTLA, hollywood, venice, noho and the grove

groundworks is a super unique coffee house because it has a total seattle vibe, great coffee and awesome dairy free nut and other milks! their “bitches brew” (their roast!) is insane and my family has picked up some of their bags from whole foods and its an awesome sunday morning brew!

blue bottle coffee

locations in the arts district, echo park, los feliz, dtla and beverly hills

actually, this is one of my favorite places ever. i love the aesthetic, i love the lattes and i love the pastry section (dude their waffles are CRAZY GOOD!) and their cascara fizz is such a good alternative when you don’t feel like coffee.

urth caffe

locations in melrose, beverly hills, santa monica, pasadena and DTLA

urth is an awesome spot to get coffee and matcha (their japanese tea latte IS superior!) and their food is awesome, its great to get brunch their potatoes are the BOMB, their gluten free cereal is BOMB and all of their soups are great! they have a super cute atmosphere and its awesome to sit with friends and catch up.

again coffee

132 W Green St, Pasadena, CA 91105

this is a fairly new spot in pasadena, and has coffee and a few food items during the day and ramen at night! kinda a surprising combo but their coffee AND their matcha is amazing – and GUYS they have a super unique ‘charcoal waffle’ (pictured) it also makes for a super special place – because the environment is super bright – to study and read!

verve coffee

locations in santa monica, melrose and DTLA

the verve in DTLA is SO COOL, they paired with juice served here to make a super cool store so they have a living plant wall (pictured) and its another super pretty place to study or work on your computer (and to get coffee pictures!).

carerra cafe

8251 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90046

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

this place is well known for:

a) printing images on their lattes

b) being right across from paul smith (pink wall!)

but its super cool and their matcha is pretty dang good (do you see a theme? i love matcha!) but its a good spot if you are stopping in melrose, but they also have a wall they paint outside now and then so its another great place to stop.

cafe de leche

locations in la and pasadena

i often visit the one in pasadena, but i do really enjoy their outside patio – its perfect for working on your computer and just cranking out the homework.

alfred’s

locations in beverly hills, brentwood, melrose, silverlake and studio city

last but not least, BUT FIRST, COFFEE! alfred’s on melrose is iconic, you’ve probably heard about it, or are planning on going. and yes, its GOOD. their latte is great, their kombucha is great, their matcha is great. and thats it!

xoxo!

(this post contains affiliate links which may be monetized)

hey all!

not to be cliche or anything, but spring has sprung! its a beauitful mid 60s-70s breeze out where i am from and the beautiful sun is out! the flowers are in bloom, attitudes are high and MOST INTERESTING of all, college decisions are coming out and i’ve gotten some good news so far, but i will only share after march ends – and i get closer to the may 1st national decision day date!

with spring in season, i was inspired by my pinterest to go ahead and put together a look for you all today!

as always, a note to all my readers – this post does not mean i own any of the above, or that i will buy any of the above. it just means that i like it visually and (unless noted) i do not own it; all that i will write about is stuff i hear from friends and other users of the product as well as the visual aspects of the product which i will mention in the comment below!

here we go!

springlookvol2-2018

top :  lush tie front button up top /  pants : topshop luca utility trousers

earrings : hazel hoops  / sunglasses : le specs x adam selman last lolita sunglasses

bag : cult gaia mini ark bag  /  hair tie : l. erickson silk scrunchie

shoes : steve madden carrson sandal

i am loving this look for street style, brunches, parties and any spring to summer look. i love these button-down tops, and this one with the adorable black piping around it, i think it pairs really nicely with these green pants and tan / gold / tortoise accessories! of course, as kanye says small sunglasses are in and these adorable le specs will be perfect for your spring/summer uniform! scrunchies are my THING y’all! i wear them every day and i absolutely love my satin ones, and this gold one is adorbs! finally, these statement tortoise earrings are the perfect finishing touch to a simple look!

enjoy all!

Must Haves: Prom Pt. 1

March 4, 2018

(this post contains affiliate links which may be monetized)

hey all!

i know its ALITTLE on the early side, but PROM SEASON IS UPON US! pretty much as the start of march comes, so does prom season! mine is on april 14th (i believe!) and i’m so excited to attend my senior prom. in searching to find my perfect dress, i have been seeing so many beautiful dresses of course, i had to make a collection of some of my favorite early prom dresses! i have picked dresses from several different price points, from just under $100 and up till $500 (which is totally unattainable, i understand!)

as always, a note to all my readers – this post does not mean i own any of the above, or that i will buy any of the above. it just means that i like it visually and (unless noted) i do not own it; all that i will write about is stuff i hear from friends and other users of the product as well as the visual aspects of the product which i will mention in the comment below!

#1: monique lhuillier floral jacquard maxi dress

this is a beautiful dress, i love the print and the length. it’s perfect because it allows you to see any shoes you might wear and you wouldn’t trip on it on the dance floor! also the neckline is beautiful and would look amazing with a simple necklace.

#2: wayf jamie ruffle wrap gown

i love this greek goddess style dress, with this dreamy blue color and totally attainable price point, you can do your hair up like blake lively! it would totally pair well with strappy sandals and a bright clutch!

#3: wtoo convertible strap gown

i am loving this ‘victorian’ purple color, for under $200 this simple dress would look beautiful with loose and beachy waves for any girl!

#4: jill stuart faux wrap satin dress

first of all, you guys know my love for wrap dresses, and this satin dress is absolutely beautiful. i love the satin fabric and the light grey color is perfect for almost any hair color pairing!

#5: alfred sung strapless sateen gown

i am in love with how simply beautiful this dress is, last year i had a sateen dress so i love the simple yet beautiful style. although i wouldn’t put myself in a strapless dress, (my shoulders are too wide!) i love how they look on others!

#6: jenny yoo chiffon spaghetti strap gown

i also love the simple goddess like style of this dress. it would pair so well with beautiful gold strappy sandals and gold accessories!

2/2018

February 27, 2018

hey all!

february is OVER…

okay well almost. i leave for my senior year retreat called ‘kairos’ tomorrow so i’ve gotta say its pretty much over for me. i mean we leave in the morning and we are without wifi, we get cell service but lets say it this way : my blog post will be scheduled until we get back on friday at 6 and we have activities, meals and talks scheduled for all day. saying all of this: kairos is a fairly secret process, we aren’t allowed to know really anything going into the retreat except when we leave and get back, where we are staying and who we are rooming with so i will not be sharing any of the things on my blog, to protect the secrecy of kairos! but i might do a little intro (like this one here) debriefing my feelings post-retreat.

anyway, as you guys know february is a fairly short month so not much happened because i have been super busy doing all of my homework, being senioritized and just sleeping.

but here are some of my favorite moments from this month:

Must Haves: Resort Wear

February 25, 2018

(this post contains affiliate links which may be monetized)

hey all!

since i’ve been a been a little slacking on my blog lately i decided i needed to make a super organized and researched post for this sunday, and since its the resort wear season i thought it sounded perfect. it was super fun to research items and thinking about what i would like to wear, and share with you guys! of course, i scoured my favorite places: nordstrom, kate spade and cult gaia to find the best for you all, in sharing i got to view all the stuff  too!

once again, a note to all my readers – this post does not mean i own any of the above, or that i will buy any of the above. it just means that i like it visually and (unless noted) i do not own it; all that i will write about is stuff i hear from friends and other users of the product as well as the visual aspects of the product which i will mention in the comment below!

#1: topshop stripe wrap suit

i love one pieces, and this is a black little number but definitely has a super cute twist, the stripe wrapped section. its super cute if like me, you are a little insecure about your midsection!

#2: geo-sphere drop earrings

these nordstrom bp earrings are super cute colors, and are definitely derivative of my favorite baublebar earrings! i love the little geometric shape in the middle and would love to wear them with a cute off the shoulder dress!

#3: baublebar drop earrings

these are a little different but definitely are super cute, and white is always in season in your resort wear and would be super cute to pair with any of the navy dresses i have in this post!

#4:   cult gaia ark bag

y’all KNOW i love this guy, to me this bag is so iconic, and is not only perfect for your resort wear, but ALL summer, and with many different outfits.

#5: marc fischer ‘randal’ wedges

marc fischer officially makes the best espadrille sandals, i mean, they are ALWAYS super cute, but i love this style especially because of the little criss-cross over the top strap! super cute and versatile, for resort wear and all of summer!

#6: kate spade 3d aligator bag

this is probably the most unique item i have on this list, but i AM in LOVE with this bag and am totally coveting it! first of all, i love the shape, and kate spade seriously always nails it on the more kitsch-y things, but i love the basket weave going on there too, and would totally get it if it was more versatile!

#7: lilly pulitzer off the shoulder dress

everyone should have a white off the shoulder dress for summer, they are perfect (for summer) for their versatility!  wear it on a date, brunch with friends, a party or any other event! dress it up with those marc fischer espedrilles, or dress it down with flat strappy sandals, or with gladiator sandals. this lilly pulitzer one is a great investment because they are ALWAYS made well and will be well worth your money!

#8: free people daisy off the shoulder dress

i think this is a super unique dress, and i love the longer balloon-y sleeves! so cute over a bathing suit or paired with flat sandals and the cult gaia ark bag for a fairly simple look that will definitely seem more put together!

#9: ray ban evolve sunglasses

i believe i have talked about them many times before, but for christmas i opted for these ray ban evolve sunnies, and cannot be more excited everytime i put them on. i have super light eyes (blue eyed people in the HOUSE) and because of their special lenses i always feel like i can see perfectly well without sun damage!

#10: le specs the last lolita sunglasses

AH i am loving the tiny sunglasses trend (i see you KANYE) and i am absolutely loving this sorta cat eye shape. i think its super unique and i love that its back in style, and totally pairs well with any look from this list!

#11: caslon ‘claire’ slip-on sandal

i am LOVING these sandals, i saw them in my nordstrom store and fell in love, they are super cute and i just love flat sandals – and think they are the perfect casual comfy shoe for the heat!

#12: j.crew saffiano leather pouch

pouches as bags is another one of my favorite trends, and this super cute bright yellow j.crew one will pair very well with anything navy blue, white or black (ya see my color scheme!) to provide a pop of unexpected color.

#13: soprano strapless striped romper

for some reason i am a huge fan of this strapless romper, like i LOVE the look and think it would pair really well with the caslon ‘claire’ slip-on sandal and the le specs the last lolita sunglasses  for a super cute put-together look!

#14: j.crew grosgrain suit

well when i saw this suit, i decided i had to have it, and although i don’t have it right now, i love the grosgrain bows as straps, i think they are the perfect amount of preppiness for a resort wear style!

#15: rebecca minkoff bow slide sandal

finally, last but CERTAINLY not least, these espedrille sandals are super cute, and i am loving the bow detail on the front!

well, i hope you guys enjoyed and feel free to shop the links as you please!

xoxo
