hello friends!

you guys know that i am not one to get political on my blog, because i prefer to keep my blog a happy exciting place where we think about clothes, food, travel and lifestyle but i kinda felt like i needed to talk about this one thing.

on thursday, december 14th 2017, the FCC voted in a 3-2 vote repealing net neutrality laws. a quick definition of net neutrality is the power to NOT have our internet providers charge more for access to certain websites, apps and programs – thus making every website ‘neutral’.

as a ‘content creator’  (yes i used that term) i am extremely disappointed. i am sad because i feel like this repeal of these rules will make it so much harder to consume content online. whether its netflix, hbo, youtube or even anyone’s personal fashion blogs the internet providers will be able to block and force their users to PAY MORE to access the content which was once free to them! i mean imagine paying more to access the stuff you already pay for – by this i mean like netflix/hbo/hulu/amazon and other websites like that.  as i mentioned, i am extremely disappointed both as a content creator and a content consumer, i just believe that the internet should be free in terms of being able to access what you want which is free now.

but as long as i can, i have written when there is no one reading, and even when there is no one else left reading i will be writing, not because of the money but because its seriously something that i have learned that i LOVE to do, and more than anything, i do macarons and must haves for myself, and post it online as a gift to you guys. even though i complain occasionally to myself for how much work on my blog it is absolutely my pride and joy and i would be SO upset if you guys couldn’t access it also!!

i decided i would change it up and post a gift guide today! so i’ve done a girls and guys gift guide and alluded to parent gifts, so i decided to share a post today! mostly these are things that i think my parents would like, or stuff they already love!

i live for my fitbit, and so will the parent who is a tech geek, a fitness fenom or someone looking to get into health – this will start them off perfectly – and will help them drop a few of those pesky holiday pounds.

#2: smeg toaster 

these smeg appliances are SO CUTE! i love this classic vintage-y looking toaster, perfect for all of the avocado toast you’d ever need! my family needs a toaster BAD, so what better than to get them the perfect breakfast appliance.

#3: hydroflask 

another thing that i live and die by is my hydroflask, i have had it now for 2+ years and its dented and so well loved – but still in fabulous condition and i wouldn’t trade it for anything! my parents are also in love with their hydroflasks – and would love more!

#4: the nest thermostat

the nest thermostat is such a cool appliance! it’s proven to help you save 10 to 12 percent on heating bills and 15 percent on cooling bills and will light up the display with time and temperature data, and to keep you safe to shut off the furnace when it detects carbon monoxide.

#5: le cruset cast iron dutch oven

my father and i love making beouf bourgoin and french onion soup and the dutch oven is perfect for that!  get it for your parents who love to cook – or for the parents who would seriously benefit well from a dutch oven and a JULIA CHILD COOKBOOK to go with their new present!

#6: dog breed ornament

personally, i would opt for the poodle, because my mom is in love with my poodle. this ornament would be an awesome gift for those parents who probably love their dogs more than their kids!

#7: waterford picture frame

what do your parents love more than you? maybe a sibling? a dog? whatever it is pick them out a super cool frame like this one and fill it with a photo of your choice – or more importantly, of their choice! since they love the picture so much they will also love your gift!

hey y’all!

these photos are super casual, like my last outfit post, “run fall run”, but i kinda like keeping it casual! well today, for y’all i have a little winter outfit for y’all! you all know that california winter is like 60 degrees  – and thats like tops – and because its not too cold, i don’t really get cold y’all. i mean it was like 40 degrees when i went on the east coast, it wasn’t what i was used to, but i got all the right gear to deal with it – and it totally worked! i think, its hard to be cold if you have the right gear –  and today  i am sharing my favorite CA winter ~casual~ gear!

this is a perfect little bag for the fashion girl, or really any girl in your life. its enough space to carry a few things, like a small wallet, your phone and a lipstick, but thats truly all we need anyway!

this is the absolute best wallet case ever, it hides your credit cards and id – and lets you carry the stuff like a wallet! i love mine and it fits two cards in the case!

i mean this is a tad out of my budget, but this is SUCH a cute bag, and is a perfect size, shape and design! ah it’s just so cute.

my sister and i got this for my mom last year too! these mantrabands have such cute sayings like ‘to the moon and back’ and they are super inexpensive – and i think that they are very thoughtful!

this palette has absolutely all of the necessary shades and is a super substantial gift for any girl in your life.

#13: drybar buttercup bundle collection

this is amazing set – because there is a blowdryer and a flat iron because #necessary because my hair is absolutely CRAZY!

i love this little bag – and in fact, my sister and i picked one up for my mother last year – and i love my longchamp le pliage! the mini is a perfect size, and i absolutely love the navy color – although it comes in many different colors.

i love my off-brand beauty blender from ulta but this set, shaped like an ornament would be such a good gift for a beauty lover.

y’all have heard way too much about these already ( READ HERE ) but seriously, this would be SUCH an awesome gift for anyone who is a little forgetful!

this is an adorable little kit filled with small coffee related acessories! like a little mug holder, sugars and stirrrers! pinch provisions makes the awesome ‘minimergency kits’ you can SHOP MY FAVORITE ONE HERE!

#5: invisibobble hair ties

these are perfect hairties!  they don’t pull your hair or get stuck, they don’t give you a headache – which is so so so important! you don’t wanna be in an amazing flow and get distracted by your hair! also they make amazing small gifts and are perfect in a stocking!

#6: drunk elephant rise + go duo

i’ve heard this skincare is awesome, and this would seriously be the absolute best way to test out skincare, get it in a small size and try it out and see if you like it!

#7: smith and cult nail trio

i love nail sets because you can either give the whole set or each polish individually!! i gave away a type of this smith and cult nail polish in my giveaway, and i love the bottles and the quality & color of the polish.

#8: sliding wallet phone case 

i actually live & die by this phone case, the end.

i mean what better than a macaron ornament, they truly are the best pastry on the planet in my impartial opinion!

these are the hair ties my mom is in love with! they are made of a neoprene fabric and they don’t leave a huge dent or get stuck in your hair! they would also be awesome in a stocking!

good ideas that are small enough!

not sure if you guys know because i almost never talk about this, but i am a HUGE stranger things fan! #teamsteve all the way! i mean besides me, who else could pull off nike cortez so well!  i am also a huge fan of enamel pins – i love putting them on my backpak.

#4: charlotte tilbury ‘gold bar’ highlighter

i am just in LOVE with this packaging! i think y’all know, highlighter is my favorite piece of makeup – besides mascara! this is such a cool looking highlighter and i’ve heard some pretty amazing things about it!

#5: fitbit flyer headphones

i want these guys so bad because i am a runner and i love listening to music, but – all of you runners out here will understand, EARPHONES FALL OUT LIKE CRAZY! seriously, you can’t run more than 5 steps without them falling out! but these headphones were created by fitbit for fit people in mind! they understand our problems and FINALLY fitbit created the perfect headphones! and i also just really want some bluetooth earphones because i have the new iphone and it does not have a headphone jack anymore!

#6: ‘the future is female’ phone case

again, i love feminist things – and i wish i had the iphone x so i could get this case because its so cute!

#7: milk holographic quad set

i seriously love my mars and venus holographic sticks but i also love powdered highlighters – so i seriously want this guy. the colors are so unique, and they would be super fun to layer on top of each other for a super cute look! i am so excited to try these!

#8: little dictionary of fashion

this is just a super cute little book, i love the color, and its been in my wishlist for as long as i can remember!

#9: fjallraven mini kanken

i have the regular size kanken, which guys believe me, i love but the smaller one would be so much more useful! the big one is just too big sometimes, and i would love to have the navy blue color.

#10: apolis ‘los angeles’ tote bag

apolis is such a cool store because they tell you how everything is ethically made! i love this tote, and you can get any of these totes with a personlized location on it too! personally, i would get a bag that said  ‘pasadena, ca, usa’

#11: kate spade cameron street lane

i absolutely love the shape of this satchel, its slightly rounded and has such cute straps on it – i’m in love!

#12: pink popsocket

these popsockets are so cool on the phone, because they act as a phone stand, a phone holder – making it easier to take photos, and if you get two they also act as a cord wrap!

#13: glossier ‘invisible shield’ sunscreen

i am a very light skinned girl, so i wear sunscreen everyday, although everybody should be wearing sunscreen all day! this glossier sunscreen has a super cool formula which is light and perfect to put under your makeup because its not heavy or too oily!

hey all!

i know i’ve already made 3 BLOG POSTS in december (#SORRYIMNOTSORRY) without setting my intentions for themonth and writing on what i was looking forward to! don’t worry because i have this post for y’all today!

here we go!

1. CHRISTMAS: i mean this one’s obvious isn’t it?
2. finishing ALL of my college apps:  3 to go! only 2 supplements yet – and i don’t think that college is quite kicking my butt! i feel pretty confident in my writing – because i do so much of it in school, and more personal here with you guys! the rest of my apps are due after the new year but i want a calm christmas break so i am turning them in the day my break is over.
3. christmas at my school: i think y’all know about this, but i go to school in an old mansion… i know how it sounds but its really not as obnoxious as you’d think!! but the ultimate perk of going to school in a mansion is the decorating capabilities. in the entryway, we have a massive christmas tree and along our big stairs we decorations like tree bits, ornaments and ribbon!
4. kris kinds!!: did i mention i love my school at christmas? well my school also does this schoolwide secret santa called ‘kris kinds’. basically, the idea of kris kinds is that you get a ‘kris kind’ and you are given a ‘kris kind’ so everyday you bring a $3-5 small gift, and on the last day you bring a bigger $20-25 gift – its so fun because you don’t know who has you! its so much fun both giving and getting gifts!
5. hearing some college decisions: this month i will hear from a few schools that i applied to early. i am so geniunely excited because every school i applied to i love and can totally see myself going to so i am super excited to get in somewhere.
6. more blog gift guides: GUYS! there are more coming so just look out!
7. my sister is coming home!: my sister is really NOT far away from home but i love when she’s home because she is absolutely my wingwoman, but most importantly, my blog-tographer! and i am so ready for winter outfit posts!
8. xmas DIYS: guys, they are coming!
9. christmas gift shopping: i love shopping – i also love giving gifts so christmas season has me SO ready for all of the shopping coming up!
10. the senior christmas luncheon: there is another tradition at my school where all of the seniors go to a christmas luncheon with their moms! i am so excited to get dressed up at school and go to the event.
11. wrapping gifts: i am a major wrapper, you’ll see VERY soon!
12. winter fashion: see #7!!
