Gift Guide for Your Secret Santa Gift Exchange

hey all!

16 days till christmas

at my school we have ‘kris kinds’ all week which means that we give small gifts  ($2-5) to a person anonymously, and we receive gifts anonymously. basically its super fun, and on friday we find out who our kris kinds are and get a biggger gift (around $20), and also my friend group is doing a secret santa for about $15-20 ish for gifts.

Notes Notes Notes!- My Favorite Ways to Take Notes

hey all!
today i am bringing y’all a school related post because right now i can easily say that i am drowning in schoolwork, and the only thing that is saving me right now is pretty notes!
so i have mentioned many times before that i love pretty notes (here / here2 / here3/ here4 – just to mention a few of the times i have talked about notes, believe me, i have mentioned this more than four times)
so today, i wanted to share with you the two different ways i like to take notes!
so here we go!
way #1:  NOTABILITY

so if y’all are unaware, notability is an app made for the iphone, ipad and mac computer that you can take notes with.
this is a super cool note taking app because you can draw using pens and highlighter with your fingers or with a stylus. this app allows you to input a pdf document that you can write on top or highlight without printing it. this has a really special environmentally friendly option because it  doesn’t require you to print it to make any further notes (but you can also print it) and its super useful because you can erase on it and make notes and make it look perfect to use which is perfect for me.
although this app costs $4.99 (which is a really hefty cost for an app y’all know i wouldn’t buy an app more than .99$ unless it was a super special app)

handmade notes are kinda awesome guys! i mean you can get a ton of cute pens (which everyone loves AM I RIGHT?) also just writing on pens and paper is just much easier to control and its kinda nice to stay away from technology.
also a ton of my teachers do not allow me to use technology in class so pens and paper is so classic!

Wanderlust: Versailles

welcome to another wanderlust! today i am sharing pictures of the palace of versailles.
i have always loved the marie antoinette period of history in france. of course, as a history student, i know the backstory of spending way too much money and letting the country get into debt, but i have always loved to look and think about the lavish parties and crazy fashion and hair. i love the marie antoinette movie by sofia coppola and starring kristen dunst, i think that movie accurately portrays the lavish life of the french dauphin that led to a revolution.

Fall in California: 3 Looks

hey all!
its already been a long week, and its only tuesday. it has rained TWICE in california within these past two weeks, which is really weird and a little uncommon, but rain tends to mean it is getting colder than it used to be, maybe it is finally fall in california!
anyway, whether it is cold or not i am gonna dress for fall. so i am gonna share with y’all today three special fall looks for when fall is still 70 degrees, here we go!

for a more casual look. perfect for windy days outside or walking around the inside mall in town. cool for lunch with friends and the top can easily be made into a fancy outfit with a skirt.

this is a cute look which is a little fancy dressed down. the shoes make it a bit dressed down, but this can also be dressed up by some ballet flats or tights and boots combo for under the dress.

this is my favorite look of the post. i absolutely love the skirt, which is from j.crew factory (AND IS ON SALE RIGHT NOW) i think the skirt is super cute and could go with the top from the first image, and these shoes are super cute!

An Update with Kate : Perfectionist

hey all!
happy sunday! i have been so busy y’all that i forgot last month to do an update with kate!
so a few days ago i saw a photo on twitter…

my first action was to laugh, then i actually thought this is so relatable.
i am a perfectionist. no shame in it.
its both a good thing and a bad thing, naturally (as most things can be good AND have flaws)
being a perfectionist is good because it means that everything is always overdone and done to perfection! this means that i will spend ample time on assignments and pieces that i complete. i also love to gift wrap, so if i am wrapping something for you, you better believe that it will have PERFECT curling ribbon over the top that i will have likely spent at LEAST 1o minutes curling.
but being a perfectionist has its downfalls…
its a flaw because i am never quite happy with anything less than the best. as per mentioned before, this means that time is an issue. this means that i will take more time than the average person with things that don’t really even matter. continuing with the idea of gift wrapping, i often mess up my curling ribbon and spend so much time getting annoyed that the curling ribbon won’t curl like it needs to.
its just a thing okay.
i have learned to live with it by knowing that i need ample time to complete my stuff, and then i saw the photo above. i realized how many people feel the same as me, i mean i go to an all girls school and MOST of the girls in my class feel the same way, that they have to be perfect because they have something to prove, whether its to their family or to society, i respect my classmates for this, i get this.
we know that we have to appear as ‘perfect’ most of the time, or someone will judge us, that is just how it works, and its sad but it is true.

DIY Snapchat Filter Halloween Costume Ideas

its halloween season!
yay! or not? I am not sure
I am not sure if i really like halloween or not, i am really not sure because i always like the idea of dressing up, but with the idea of continuing being ‘brilliant’ this month so whether i like it or not, its coming, and its coming soon.
so i really would really love to put together my own costume, because buying a costume is not my deal.

-When did you start blogging?
I started blogging in May of 2012, but have had a couple of different blogs over the years. I rebranded in 2015 to finally create a blog that I felt encompassed my style and personality.

-How did you get into blogging?
I actually found an old friend’s fashion blog and was so inspired by her! I thought it was such a fun idea to establish an online network and also share my opinions to readers. At the time I was currently writing in the fashion column of my school paper so I thought blogging online would be an easy transition.
 
-Why do you enjoy blogging?
I love blogging because there are so many amazing connections to be made online. It’s so exciting to meet people online with similar interests and it’s always thrilling to finally meet a blogging friend in person! These connections and friends make blogging so rewarding!

-What do you like to do for fun?
When I’m not blogging you can catch me spending time with friends, shopping (my form of cardio), trying out new restaurants and spending time at the beach. I love exploring fun new areas even if it just means playing tourist in my town for the day!
-what is your favorite social media platform for showing your blog off?
I think Instagram is probably the most fun, but also the most difficult. It’s so much fun when I have a constant nice feed going, but I struggle with keeping this feed consistent.
-what would your advice be for other bloggers? what would your advice be for bloggers looking for getting into the game?
My advice would be to start blogging because you want to have a voice and share your opinions. To actually be successful you have to be very dedicated and do it because you love it. At first it can be difficult because no one is really reading, but as time progresses, and if you’re passionate enough, readers will find their way to you! Being consistent and having fresh content is also very important — no one wants to read a blog they feel like they’ve read before.
