hey y’all,
whats up?
i feel like dora omg, waiting for your response. so basically when school ended my life exploded you know, in a ball of fire. when this happened, i was just relaxing, reading me before you (which is a great book btw) and i asked my mom what day it was, because i honestly didn’t know what day it was.
it was thursday….already thursday and i hadn’t done anything that i wanted to accomplish, but i had watched a lot of once upon a time, enough for two curses to be broken (and if you know how much that is…its a lot)
so i decided to get this together, get myself together, I logged onto my computer, went on indesign and create this…
which you can download here : blog_weekplanner_download
if you open the link, you will see my week in review schedule.
i have been putting this on my dry erase white board / magnet board in order to schedule myself out as well as reminding myself the dates.
IF YOU WANT ORGANIZATION, download and print this pdf, you’ll love it!
hope you all use and enjoy!
xoxo (aka kate wins!)
so did you know that june is national dairy month? well i didn’t until a few days ago.
strange it seems, well why june? i have no idea! but i have a very interesting relationship with dairy…
now, i will tell you something , i am an (self proclaimed) ice cream expert who is lactose intolerant. NOW THIS IS AN OXYMORON, how can i love ice cream and not be able to digest it (i have no idea) there is something called self control (which i don’t have) but i have learned to suffer the consequences and just not care!
so in honor of national dairy month, i will be sharing 5 lactose free ice cream or sorbets, lets get started:
have you ever been to disneyland or the dole plantation and had one of these beauties? well its basically magical pineapple frozen yogurt (WITH NO DAIRY!) one of the favorites things that i can make at home (easy usually takes about 5 minutes or so) and is so natural!
i especially like this recipe for dole whips from Dashing Dish
i love the taste of peach, like what is better than that! well in this dairy free number from Martha Stewart, you get the magnificent taste of this fruit without the consequences of regular dairy peach ice cream!
this recipe is so fresh (and so easy) and is sure to make your taste buds sing!
this is not the traditional watermelon sorbet, but this looks great (seeing as i haven’t tasted it YET) the best trick about this recipe from A Beautiful Mess, is that no machine is necessary which means you don’t have to buy another appliance just to make ice cream!
this recipe made me so excited when i first tried it, i mean i am naturally a fruit-y flavor kind of girl rather than tradition flavors. my family and i love this recipe base, and we have made it with Roasted Apricots and Watermelons. AND LET ME JUST TELL YOU, the roasted apricot sorbet that my family makes is the absolute BOMB, and i might just be willing to share the recipe soon!
you may have seen this on pinterest before, seeing as it comes up on my feed all the time, but this looks great! i have yet to try this but it seems very simple (and honestly VERY delicious) and i know i know, this recipe has yogurt in it, but i do as i would do anywhere else, just modify get lactose free yogurt and i am sure this will be just as good!
i was thinking, there are a lot of typical preppy things, and today i decided i wanted to make a list of different preppy (both stereotypically and actually preppy!) and the typical preppy things that i personally GUILTY OF!!
so here we go:
you frequent pink and green colors together (guilty)
you love vineyard vines, kate spade, sperry, jack rogers, lacoste, l.l. bean, j.crew, etc (guilty)
you follow kip and sarah vickers on instagram (guilty!) via*
lilly pulitzer is your perfect spring (and summer) go to look (guilty)
you play lacrosse, do crew, play golf , etc (guilty)
you own a monogram necklace, monogramed items (guilty)
you live on the east coast, and or new england
you own a beach house
you call your style “preppy” (guilty) preppy definition!
you own a longchamp tote bag (guilty)
you prefer stacking bracelets rather than necklaces (guilty)
you love fall just for the cute scarves and boots (guilty)
you love personalizing everything you own (guilty)
a fashion icon of yours is jackie kennedy (guilty)
so i was thinking, oh my gosh, its june already, so i remembered that i had to set my monthly intention, and here it is…
i hope this june is
unforgettable
i picked the word unforgettable because i hope my summer is unforgettable. this summer i plan on getting my license and being able to drive any place i want (with my parents permission of course!) also its my sister’s last summer before college so i hope that we have some unforgettable experiences! and friends of course, spending more time creating those moments that we love to have together. according to google, unforgettable is an adjective meaning impossible to forget; very memorable
how will i try to be more ‘unforgettable’ this summer?
this month i plan on having fun in my break by doing the things that i love with the people that i love, and by this i will be developing myself more and my own voice will be able to shine as an unforgettable force.
well i hope y’all enjoyed! have a happy thursday and a great start of june!
so in my last post i mentioned that i have finals next week, i kinda feel like UGH, but at the same time i am ready for it to be summer
so i was watching a video from ASAP Science a few weeks ago about study tips and while watching i they mentioned that its not great to listen to music while studying.
and i was confused, i ALWAYS listen to music while studying (like the classical no lyric kind) and i thought it was helpful but i tested out last week and realized for me at least that no music worked better! WHO KNEW!! anyway if you want i implore you to at least try / try without music because turns out it can REALLY make a difference either way for y’all!
and i was like, easy maybe ill share with y’all how i study and i realized that would be a great idea so here we go:
so my first step is usually a info web or outline
i start with the title of my info in the middle and move out with the info, this is a good jumping off point for me, perfect for getting my info together and re-written!
after that i tend to just move in to my “teach mode” i go on as if i was a teacher myself and verbally speak through my lesson to anyone (friend, classmate, mom, dad, sister, grandma, dog, etc.) anyone really who will listen!
anyway all! i hope that you enjoyed this is pretty much how i do my thang! if you have any ideas with me please FEEL FREE to share them in the comments section!
so next week is my last week of school! my last week as a sophomore!
BUT YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS (besides summer) … I WILL BE PRACTICALLY AN UPPERCLASSMAN!
bye bye underestimation and an older sister, high school is my game now!
BUT STOP, NOT SO FAST!
FINALS FIRST
well for starters, i only have four finals
BLESS!!
but unfortunately they are for spanish, english, math and bio.
i feel like i have set up myself well for coming into these finals. but they are just so much work and i feel like i am drowning in the body systems and trig functions right now.
and i feel like i haven’t studied enough, this is our review week right now and i have just gone crazy with study guides and flash cards (probably cause i have) but the upside of all of this is my beautiful studyblr inspired study material! I just feel so organized and with MORE stuDYING I will be ready for this…
