its kate! so just incase you don’t know who Gray Malin is, first of all how do you not know who is he? and secondly (since i don’t exactly know how to describe his brilliance, here’s google’s answer for him)

Books I Want to Read – Winter/Spring 2016

its kate! today I wanted to share books that I want to read this spring/winter of 2016! I am gonna put an image of the cover and link to where you can buy the book on amazon! so lets get started!

Hamilton: The Revolution, by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Jeremy McCarter

since I am obsessed with the music from Hamilton: The Musical on broadway, I have been really interested in the history of Alexander Hamilton and I think this would be a great read.

Bad Feminist by Roxane Gay

I have heard from many people (at my school and etc) that this is a simply amazing read, and I am very excited to read because I took a semester class on women in US history and have been simply pulled to read this book.

The Gospel According to Coco Chanel By Karen Karbo

Another read that has been heavily suggested to me, this book explores the philosophy of the amazing Coco Chanel and speaks about style and passion.

True Prep by Chip Kidd and Lisa Birnbach

This is updated version of the preppy bible “The Preppy Handbook”, and since I loved the Preppy Handbook (even though its a parody of a preppy life) I am way too excited to read this!

Things I’m Excited for Next Semester

hey guys!

i just finished my finals today! YAY! so on tuesday I start my new semester, so today I wanted to share why i am excited for this new semester ahead of me!

MY YOGA CLASS! : I am taking a yoga class this semester and I am way too excited to take this class! I am excited to have a little break out of school to just have yoga! very excited for this! also I am very excited because of the clothes,I am buying some cute inexpensive leggings from forever 21.
Starting Fresh: Its very nice to just be able to start fresh on a new semester even though I did pretty well this semester!
New Books in English Class: I am excited to start new books in my english class! It makes me so inspired to read more!
MORE BLOGGING: I am very excited to blog more (because I will have more time!) and I just get so into blogging when I am not so busy!

How to Get Focused for Finals

hey guys!

I have finals next week, as you may or may not know 🙂 but I had have recent problems with getting focused into the finals that I am studying for, so I am putting together some of my tips from last year, and my tips from this year to help you guys get focused for finals! here we go:

Use Self Control to block Websites that Might Distract You: For example, I have now blocked Kate Spade, Netflix, Twitter, Instagram and Nordstrom from my computer so I don’t get distracted online browsing.
Take A 10 Minute Break Between Every Hour: I don’t know what works for you guys, but 10 minute breaks work for me. In these breaks, I have a snack, paint my nails, organize something in my room or read a fun book (aka not school books!). But my suggestion is to NEVER take a nap in that 10 minutes, because your 10 minute break will become much longer.
Use a Goal: My personal goal is to ace all of my finals, why? Because I want to buy myself a new pair of leggings, so all over my house I have printed out a picture of those leggings and are using them as inspiration to ace my finals, and if I don’t ace my finals I won’t buy myself the beautiful Black Sonar Tights from Athleta (personally their sonar leggings are the only ones I will buy from now on!)

Everyday Necklaces that Preppy Girls Should Own

hey guys!

happy thursday! i hope you have had a great week! i have a busy one with finals coming up, so there will be no post on tuesday but macarons and must haves will be up and running on thursday again, and the post for sunday will be scheduled!

so today I wanted to talk about necklaces, personally I love necklaces and would wear them everyday (but I leave them off for basketball) but anyway, I wanted to share some everyday necklaces that I think every preppy girl should own! lets get started!

a pearl on a chain from dogeared: a perfect simplistic way to introduce pearls in a everyday outfit!
a pretty pendant necklace: I like this one from nadri! its so shiny and so very beautiful!

My Favorite New School Supplies

kate spade idiom pencil set: these are the cutest little pencils to bring up your spirits , and who wouldn’t want some Kate Spade in their pencil case!

stabilo pens!: you have probably seen these on pinterest before, and I have been wanted them for a very long time and I finally purchased them for my self and couldn’t be happier, they are the best!

Why Do I Blog?

hey guys!

how many times do I get this question? I get this question way too much, so today I wanted to explain to all of you guys why I blog!

let’s get started:

WHY? :

I blog so I can share my opinions, you guys must know it I mean I do so many reviews and I do posts about the things that I enjoy, and the things I think you will also enjoy!
I blog so I can use time wisely! I mean I plan my schedule to make sure I am leaving enough time for homework and my after school activities! It helps me stay on task knowing that I have to get something done, and I have a scheduled amount of time to do it in.
I blog because I like to write. Writing is a big passion for me, and if I can find a good platform to do it on, even better!
I blog because I love it! I honestly wouldn’t blog if I didn’t like it, I mean it’s gets long and sometimes very tedious but it’s honestly so much fun at the end of the day to see something that I work so much for looking good, and other people enjoying it!

Word of the Month!: Focus

I was inspired by Navy Striped Peonies to do a word of the month for every month starting in January! So for January I picked….

focus

i picked focus because up coming this month I have my finals, and I would like to focus on the positive stuff in my life instead of the negative parts of my life.

how will i try to be more focused this month?

i can become more focused by watching less netflix, using less social media and planning my time better.
