An Update on Kate (January – Mid Feb 2016)

hey guys!

so I am starting a new segment, called an Update on Kate where I will do a monthly update on my life, and I will share some recent pictures

y’all ready? lets go:

so I just finished basketball season, and now I have starting taking art classes after school and I am really having an adventure with that!

I went to winter formal on february 19th, and I WAS IN LOVE WITH HOW I LOOKED (not meaning to sound in love with myself)

here is the squad and I taking a basic selfie and its just so cute!

and heres just a few more with other friends

and in the end of january I went to disneyland!

first of all, typical blogger , my camera is always on my body! especially at disneyland!

my squad and I on splash mountain, (this wasn’t the big drop you can tell because we are all smiley still and not screaming) and her phone survived! it didn’t get wet and w still got that cute selfie!

and finally I will explain, I have been seeing this cup online and I was way too obsessed with it! I loved star wars so much, especially BB8, so all day I hunted for this cup, and when I got it I was way too excited, and my friends decided that they wanted to snapchat it!

and btw:

my shirt gives me life, not meaning to go all girls school on ya but so many people commented on it! I don’t really shop at brandy melville a lot, but this shirt spoke to me, so I had to own it anyway

My Favorite Yoga Gear

hey guys!

so tuesday i posted about how I am doing with yoga so far, so I decided that I wanted to post about my favorite yoga gear , so lets get started:

my mat:

Gaiam Citron Sundial Yoga Mat : This is a really comfortable mat, and you know its not as expensive as the mats from lululemon, but still really cute and still really nice without that hefty price.

my favorite shirts:

nike dry-fit cool strappy: very loose fitting, perfect fit, especially when it gets a little warm in the studio, its happens to just work perfectly for yoga even though its for running.

athleta fastest track tee : although I have this shirt in red, I love it so much! Its a perfect fit, just tight enough for you to able to move and twist well.

my favorite bottoms:

athleta sonar capri pants: so basically these are the best pants ever, since they are this sonar fabric, they are literally the best things known to man, never again buying different leggings, I have found my pair.

forever 21 active striped-side shorts: now some people hate doing yoga in shorts, i understand that, but sometimes its way too hot to deal with putting on and taking those leggings off when your legs are sweaty, these shorts are a great alternative.

My Yoga Experience – So Far

hey guys!

so as many of you guys know, I am currently taking a yoga class at my school and its fantastic!

the teacher is great, its like a yoga class from a yoga studio its very nice! I am really progressing even though its only been like 6 classes I just love the classes.

I am learning so much, and I am really enjoying the quiet meditation time I have during the day to just be low-key and just to be one with myself.

I am trying inversions slightly and I am really starting to make progress! getting closer to that handstand! I can do it i know!

Sophomore Year Bucket List

since I am a sophomore i was thinking, what do i want for the end of the school year so I guess you can say this is a bucket list:

do the perfect handstand in yoga
be able to run a two miles without stopping
start drinking more water, so that I can be less dehydrated
go to soul cycle
organize my backpack!
be able to be confident to read my own writing

MY PLANNER!

hey guys!

so today I wanted to share with you guys my planner, and how I organize, it and why I love it and why I think you will love it too!

so without further ado, lets get things started!

the planner: Erin Condren , Geodes Life Planner in Turquoise

and it was personalized with my first and last initials! how cute!

and inside …

there are always beautiful insides!

what I love most about this planner:

different color every month!
I love the layout, how each day has adequate spacing, unlike other planners that make saturday and sunday share one little space
I LOVE the little space for notes and the “thankful thought” in the corner, which I love to look back and think about what my life was like when I look back.
there are sticker pages in the back, with stickers like “hair appt @” and “concert”, “vacation” or “party” and blank stickers to fill in your own important events!
the beautiful covers that can be personalized with your initials whole name or what ever that you want!

Word of the Month!: Positivity

so the word I picked for this month is

positivity!

I picked positivity because I always find myself being negative about myself and I feel like being positive is just better because it causes positive affects.

how will i try to be positive this month?

I am going to try to be positive this month by surrounding my self by the people who bring out the best in me, and try to bring out the best in the others who are around me.

January 2016 Wrap-Up

so since today is the last day of the month, I am going to do a wrap-up post for the month, yay first month of 2016 CHECK!

I shared with you guys my new years resolutions as well as a post where I announced the blog name change to the new Macarons and Must Haves which was very exciting!

in january I announced my word for the month which happened to be FOCUS, and I talked about why I blog, and how much I love it.

as usual I shared the monthly fab five which featured a pink monogram camera strap as well as a pretty nail polish color and I also shared a month wanderlust which featured Kiel James Patrick and Sarah Vickers and the preppy pictures at the places they take them at.

this month I took my final exams for school and wrote about how to get focused for those final exams. I also wrote about some new school supplies that I have been enjoying. I shared the books that I wanted to read this season. and then I shared the things that I am very excited for this new semester.
